The Paper analyses future possibilities for Kosovo to: rationalize spending of its energy resources; and use alternative energy resources that are environmentally friendly. Best practice should be followed by EU Member States, as well as countries such as Kosovo that wish to join the EU. Renewable energy offers a chance to reduce carbon emissions, clean the air, and put society on a more sustainable footing. It also offers countries the chance to improve their energy security and spur economic development. Much has happened in the renewable energy sector during the past five years.
